Poker and the American Dream: An Analysis of Why Senior Citizens Play Poker

Critiques the contention that they reason people play poker is a sort of pursuit of the American dream, the one big pay off which will make life worthwhile. Points out that because of the multiracial, multiethnic, and multiclass nature of the United States there is no one American dream. Notes that Jones' contention of a classless society is simply not true and that many factors interplay to determine a person's success or failure in life.
