Chinese Women And Communism
[ send me this paper ]
Nationalism, or what Westerners tend to
define as communism, effects not only the economic and political aspects
of a culture, but also, the social evolution by restricting and, or,
discouraging independent ideas and innovative processes. This 8 page
paper argues that the transition to communism in China was a political and idealistic
process that had little or no room and, or, inclination for advocating the rights of women,
even though the basic tenets of communism, as presented by Karl Marx, is the value of
the human 'capital'. Bibliography lists 10 sources.

Comfort Women
[ send me this paper ]
During the occupation of Asia by the Japanese prior to and during World War Two women of the occupied countries were abducted and forced into prostitution for the 'comfort' of Japanese soldiers. The government has admitted complicity in this crime against humanity but refuses to admit responsibility nor allot restitution. This 10 page paper asserts that without a doubt, it is the moral obligation of the Japanese government to extend not only an apology, but to provide restitution as well. Bibliography lists 8 sources.

Cultural Development Of Vietnamese Women
[ send me this paper ]
4 pages in length. The topic of this paper is important for many reasons, not the least of which includes the social, economic and gender oppression Vietnamese women have historically experienced with regard to cultural development. One only has to be concerned with equitable treatment for everyone across the globe to have an interest in the way in which Vietnamese women are routinely deprived of their rightful cultural development. The questions this paper seeks to answer involve the extent to which the tenets of patriarchy single-handedly guide every nuance of cultural development for Vietnamese women, or if they maintain any semblance of independence apart from their gender oppressed existence. Bibliography lists 6 sources.

Culture and Economics: The Lives of Ethiopian Women
[ send me this paper ]
A 13 page exploration of the economic and cultural factors which impact Ethiopian women. The welfare of Ethiopia’s rural women is of particular concern in that they represent the majority in Ethiopian society. These women have few economic options in life. They often live in abusive homes but to escape those homes they must find viable employment in the cities. Such employment is largely nonexistent in Ethiopia and far too many women are forced into the industry of prostitution. This paper explores the options available to Ethiopia’s women and suggests that in order to changed the lives of these women we must address both Ethiopian culture and entrepreneurial options. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
